Connect SMS alerts to MyGeotab
Integrate SMS Everyone with an industry leading Fleet Management solution
MyGeotab is an all-in-one platform for the complete management of your fleet vehicles.

-
It helps you meet regulatory compliance and support driver safety
-
You can connect your entire fleet
-
Improves visibility over all of your vehicles
-
Reduces fleet costs
-
Enhances productivity

SMS Everyone connects directly to MyGeotab so you can generate instant SMS alerts to a team or individual whenever certain events happen.

Examples of events where you could generate an alert:
-
Harsh Braking - when the car brakes too hard
-
Hard Acceleration - when the car accelerates too quickly
-
Harsh cornering - when the vehicle does an aggressive turn
-
Speeding - when the car exceeds a certain speed
-
Driving without a seat belt

So for example, you could create a rule that whenever the vehicle exceeds say 125km/h it sends an SMS to 3 members on your team.

Getting Started

To begin using SMS with MyGeotab, first sign up for an SMS Everyone account here

Please mention that you are wanting to connect to MyGeotab

We will contact you by email you to give you all the settings to enter into your MyGeotab software. Or follow the instructions below.

Once you have your SMS Everyone account up and running, you'll need:
Your SMS Everyone username
We will send this to you when you sign up.

Your password
We will send this to you.

The Origin of your messages
In Australia this can be a word up to 11 characters. eg 'Car Alert'
Or we can make it a mobile number of ours so that when anyone in the team replies, it can forward that message back to everyone in the team.

For example, you could receive a speeding warning SMS to 3 members in the team. The team manager could then call the offending driver, give them a stern warning, then reply to the SMS with "Hi Team, I've called the driver and handled it"
Now everyone on the team knows that this issue is handled.

Let us know how you want the service to work and we'll give you the Origin to put in to your MyGeotab software.

List ID
The List ID from your SMS Everyone account - In your SMS Everyone account we will set up a list that can have one or more mobile numbers in it. Then every time the alert fires, it will send the SMS to everyone in that list.
You can easily update this list in your SMS Everyone account at any time.

To create the list and retrieve the List ID, log in to your SMS Everyone account and go to lists.

In "Description" give the list a name. we recommend that you add something like "DO NOT DELETE" to hopefully prevent any staff member from deleting this list. You can contact us and request that we set any list so that it cannot be deleted if required.

In the "Numbers" box, type or paste in all of the mobile numbers that you want to receive these alerts. Minimum is one number. No maximum.

Once you have created that list, hover your mouse over the list name and we will show you the LIST ID.

Car # 1234 has exceeded
135km/h
-37.704402, 145.342606.
Contact driver immediately.
